About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded Project Accountant to join our client’s team in Stanger, KZN. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial management and commercial insight to manufacturing and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and influencing project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts and financial plans
• Monitor project financial performance and profitability
• Analyse manufacturing and project costs
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks
• Prepare and present project financial reports and key performance indicators to management
• Develop accurate financial forecasts linked to project timelines and operational plans
• Prepare and manage AIS and APDP submissions and claims
• Liaise with suppliers and relevant government departments to ensure successful claim completion
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal controls
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and operational teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ finance experience within a manufacturing environment
• Automotive industry exposure highly advantageous
• CA(SA) or CIMA advantageous
• Strong understanding of project costing, financial controls and manufacturing finance
