About the Role

MECS Africa is seeking an experienced Market Development/Sales Specialist to join our team in driving growth and expansion of our agricultural chemicals business across Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the agrochemical/crop protection industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and deliver training programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute market development strategies to increase sales and revenue growth
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers, distributors, and other key stakeholders
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities
• Design and deliver training programs for commercial audiences
• Analyze data and insights to inform business decisions and drive action

Requirements

• A degree in Agriculture or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in the agrochemical/crop protection industry in technical, sales, or marketing roles
• Solid knowledge of crop protection sector and farmer needs – crop nutrition knowledge is a plus
• Experience developing and delivering training programs for commercial audiences
• Analytical mindset with the ability to turn insights into clear actions
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Willingness to travel within the region, including field visits and occasional office collaboration
