About the Role
Our client, one of the largest independent producers of wheat in the country, situated in Riebeek West, is seeking a young Assistant Accountant to join and support the Financial Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of creditors control and accounts payable (multiple entities)
- Recordkeeping and invoicing between relevant entities
- Monthly payroll processing and administration
- Accounting up to trial balance
- Year-end audit preparation
- VAT, EMP submission and reconciliations
- Assist with management of debtors control
- Stock accounting, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis
- Cost tracking and support of manufacturing operations
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Completed SAIPA articles and professional registration
- 3-5 years experience in accounts payable or creditors control
- Experience in manufacturing environment will be highly favourable
- Strong stock accounting experience will be a significant advantage
- Good understanding of cost accounting principles
- Excellent computer and software skills (SAGE and Pastel will be beneficial)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Outstanding numerical and analytical skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A detail-oriented personality
- High level of integrity
- Good time-management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work under pressure
