About the Role
The Internal Sales Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the sales function by managing customer accounts, coordinating sales administration, and ensuring the smooth processing of orders from quotation through to delivery. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset, while supporting a business committed to sustainability and innovation in packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the sales team to ensure efficient daily operations
- Prepare, process, and manage customer quotations, sales orders, and invoices accurately and timeously
- Maintain and update the CRM system with customer details, sales activity, leads, and pipeline information
- Maintain and update the sales filing system (electronic and hard copy)
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to provide product information, pricing, and order status updates
- Handle customer queries professionally and escalate complaints where necessary to ensure swift resolution
- Support existing customers with repeat business and product extensions
- Identify and manage new business opportunities and enquiries
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfilment
- Manage logistics locally and internationally
- Extract and distribute the Outstanding Sales Orders Report daily
- Monitor stock levels and assist with forecasting and replenishment planning
- Generate and analyse sales reports for management review
- Support marketing and lead-generation promotional activities as required
- Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for clients
- Manage diaries and appointments for sales staff
- Book meetings and arrange, attend, and minute internal sales meetings
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) essential
- Minimum of 23 years experience in a sales administration, internal sales, or customer service role
- Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG environments preferred
