Job Description

Mechanical Artisan Ngodwana Power Generation / Heavy Industry About the Role We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Artisan to join our Maintenance team at Ngodwana. This role is critical in ensuring that plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and without interruption. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, service, and maintain mechanical equipment Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance Troubleshoot and repair faults and mechanical failures Work on equipment such as: Pumps, compressors, fans Gearboxes, conveyors, drives, couplings Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards Keep accurate records using a CMMS system Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals Prepare and clean work areas before and after jobs Work shifts and overtime when required Support plant reliability and reduce downtime Requirements: Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter / Turner (Red Seal preferred) 35 years experience post apprenticeship or in a similar environment Strong understanding of: Mechanical systems and machinery Fault finding and troubleshooting Experience working with: Pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. Good problem-solving and communication skills Computer literate (MS Office / maintenance systems) Ability to work independently and in a team
