KwaZulu-Natal: Civil Engineer (Pr. Registered)

Job Advertisement: Pr. Civil Engineer/Technologist Gqeberha Office Department: Development Services Contract Type: Permanent To provide civil services to iX engineers. The Professional Civil Engineer / Civil Technologist knowledge of the civil engineering discipline and good engineering practices, including design, construction monitoring and project management duties, will ensure an autonomous project execution while supporting the broader iX engineers business, values and vision. The candidate should also mentor the young Engineers / Technologists to gain experience and acquire Pr registration. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The d uties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: General project administration Assist with the preparation of proposals Ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded Assist and adhere to HSE requirements during design stages Design Engineer / Technologist forming part of feasibility studies, conceptual design, detail design, implementation of projects Management and control of health, safety and environmental risks associated with project activities Development and implementation of initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and efficiency of the project execution Effective management and control of risks through engineering designs Manage multiple projects Assist the office with increasing sales (eg bidding / tendering) and marketing Train and mentor young Engineers and Technologists Standard Competencies Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail. Education, Language & Qualifications B.Eng/B Tech Civil Engineering degree or higher Professional registration with ECSA is a requirement (Minimum 5 years post registration experience in the Civil Engineering environment) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Essential Knowledge, skills, and Experience Strong technical background. AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D experience. A proven track record in design of Civil engineering related projects. Sound understanding of applicable engineering standards and codes of practice. Experience in multi-disciplinary civil projects. Demonstrable commitment to HSE management in a project environment. Quality Assurance knowledge, awareness and responsibility. Safety awareness and responsibility. Willing to travel the Kwa-Zulu Natal for project visits and investigations.
