About the Role
The Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Workshop Foreman in delivering high-quality mechanical work, maintaining accurate job card documentation, and ensuring efficient service to internal teams and customers. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold company standards, mentor apprentices, and contribute to a well-organised and productive workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Workshop Foreman in a constructive manner, ensuring that internal department relationships are properly maintained.
- Present exemplary task performance.
- Personally manage work efficiently.
- Properly record all hours worked and sold.
- Ensure that all lubricants used are recorded on the job card.
- Ensure that all parts used are recorded on the job card.
- Use systems and processes in place as instructed by management.
- Record the use of consumable items.
- Build sound relationships with parts staff.
- Ensure that all tasks performed comply with minimum standards required by the company.
- Participate in all relevant training programs.
- Share new knowledge with others.
- Take note to do personal learning and self-development.
- Be courteous to customer staff and customer/manager when attending a breakdown.
- Ensure the vehicle in which you drive is properly cleaned and presentable.
- Obey the rules of the road; all traffic fines will be routed to the offender.
- Create sound mentor/apprentice relationship.
- Support peers and learners, do concrete skills transfer and promote an atmosphere of high levels of productivity.
- Set an example in terms of timekeeping.
- Ensure that all warranty claims are correctly diagnosed in terms of the 3 Câs: Complaint, Cause and Correction.
- Take ownership of apprentices assigned to you.
- Diligently complete all documentation regarding apprenticeship, such as logbooks.
- Always adhere to Health and Safety rules.
- Encourage colleagues to do the same.
- Properly adhere to company rules regarding the use of tools, special tools and company assets.
- Always keep your workplace neat and tidy.
- Always wear correct PPE per job.
Requirements
- Matric
- Minimum 2-3 years experiences in similar role
- Code 14 License with pdp
- Diesel Trade Test Completed
