About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil / Structural Project Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and structural engineering, with experience in project management, design, and construction. They will be responsible for developing and implementing civil and structural specifications, designs, and reports, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement civil and structural specifications, data sheets, calculations, reports, and design criteria
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Conduct limit states design analysis using Robot Structural Analysis, Prokon, or Staad Pro
- Review technical drawings, both 2D and 3D
- Apply fundamental understanding of 3D modelling and intelligent model integration and collaboration in the Building Information Modelling (BIM) process
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. for data analysis and reporting
- Interact with design teams remotely via electronic communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Conduct analytical skills to measure, audit, investigate, solve problems, present ideas, and negotiate
- Work under minimal supervision, maximizing efficiency and meeting challenging work goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in civil or structural engineering / Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech) advantageous
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications, technical, management, or business related advantageous
- Minimum 5 years experience in civil & structural engineering and package management within the construction industry
- Exposure to process plant design, preferably in pyrometallurgical environments
- Experience in contract management, engineering, costing/cost control, HAZOP, SHERQC, and multi-disciplinary construction of process plants
Qualifications
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications, technical, management, or business related (if applicable)
