Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day technical scope and deliverables on one or more control systems projects from concept through to handover
- Design and develop complete control system architectures including panels, industrial networks, PCs, PLCs, and SCADA systems
- Program and configure PLC and SCADA systems using platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, and AVEVA Wonderware
- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) to verify system performance against functional specifications
- Carry out on-site commissioning activities, including I/O testing, loop checking, system integration, and troubleshooting
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including functional design specifications, control philosophies, network architecture drawings, and test protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and client-side stakeholders
- Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle, escalating risks where necessary
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to standardisation of control system templates, libraries, and best practices
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with applicable safety standards and industry regulations
Experience & Qualifications
- BEng degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in PLC/SCADA control system project development and commissioning
- Demonstrable experience with control system platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, or AVEVA Wonderware
- Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols and network architectures
- Experience with panel design, I/O scheduling, and control system hardware specification
- Proven ability to manage technical project deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a methodical approach to fault-finding and system diagnostics
- Willingness to travel to site for commissioning activities as required
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
