About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Data Analyst to join our clients growing team in Stellenbosch. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, business analysis, and reporting, and is critical in helping the organisation understand its data landscape, deliver actionable insights, and continuously improve our SQL Server-based data environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define problems independently and develop solutions to drive outcomes
- Collaborate with the data team, IT, and business stakeholders as a trusted partner
- Develop and maintain complex queries, joins, aggregations, and window functions in SQL Server
- Document data models, architectures, or data dictionaries
- Create reports and dashboards using advanced Excel skills
- Engage technical and non-technical stakeholders with strong communication skills
Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance)
- 8+ years experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
- Strong SQL expertise
- Proven hands-on experience with SQL Server
- Experience documenting data models, architectures, or data dictionaries
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and dashboarding
- Strong communication skills
