About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our award-winning 5-star boutique hotel and spa in Plettenberg Bay. As part of a respected boutique hospitality group with operations across South Africa, this intimate coastal hotel offers a refined guest experience with a strong emphasis on personalised service, outstanding food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Full general management of all hotel departments and daily operations
- Financial management including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- HR leadership including recruitment, training, performance management and staff development
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with guests, staff, agents, the local community and industry partners
- Driving continuous improvement of the guest experience across all touchpoints
- Custodian of operational equipment and hotel assets
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and sustainability standards
- Upholding and championing company values and culture throughout the team
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management or General Manager role within luxury boutique hospitality
- Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a close-knit team
- Sound knowledge of HR legislation and practices
- Experience hosting agents, media and VIP guests
- Understanding of sustainability practices within hospitality
- Computer literate with strong administrative capability

Salary & Benefits
Gross monthly salary: R50,000 – R60,000 (dependent on experience)
