About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef to join a prestigious luxury safari lodge in the Sabi Sands, responsible for delivering refined and memorable dining experiences that align with the standards of a luxury lodge. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can manage a high-performing kitchen team, develop seasonal and culturally inspired menus, maintain strict hygiene and HACCP compliance, and drive financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full culinary operation to ensure delivery of refined and memorable dining experiences
- Manage a high-performing kitchen team and develop strong leadership and team development skills
- Develop seasonal and culturally inspired menus that showcase creativity and innovation
- Maintain strict hygiene and HACCP compliance in the kitchen
- Drive financial efficiency through cost control, stock management, and budgeting
- Provide excellent guest engagement skills to personalise dining experiences
- Perform under pressure with high adaptability and creativity
Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification (Diploma or higher)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef in a luxury lodge or fine-dining environment
- Proven ability in menu design, seasonality, and innovative culinary concepts
- Strong leadership and team development skills within a diverse kitchen team
- Extensive knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Solid financial acumen
