Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s client, a well-established wealth management company, is seeking a Managing Director for their Wealth Management Investment Division. The division comprises all the Groups category II investment managers, including Private Clients, Portfolio Solutions, Select Manager, Investment Select, and Dynamic Fund Managers. This permanent positio is based in Bellville and requires a strategic leader to drive investment management success

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and mentor team members.
  • Advocate policies and procedures concerning employees.
  • Guide and lead the division as a cohesive team.
  • Implement Employment Equity policies.
  • Execute responsibilities of a Managing Director according to lawful and ethical standards.
  • Manage human capital according to authorized personnel policies.
  • Develop and implement the divisions strategic direction.
  • Oversee and manage investment philosophy and processes.
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation.
  • Report to the CEO on plans and performance.
  • Analyze and develop distribution channels.
  • Ensure sound financial management in collaboration with Finance leadership.
  • Work with Marketing and Sales to develop and maintain products and solutions.
  • Plan and oversee marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Recruit, select, and develop team members.
  • Ensure sustainable succession planning.
  • Coordinate development, implementation, training, and maintenance of required systems.
  • Ensure adherence to Group IT and IT security policies.
  • Prepare annual budgets and manage company resources within budget guidelines.
  • Monitor and report on operational and financial performance.
  • Identify business expansion opportunities.
  • Drive business negotiations and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Comply with fit and proper requirements as per FAIS.
  • Obtain Key Individual licensing for all category II products.
  • Ensure fair treatment of clients.
  • Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and relevant regulations.
  • Liaise and cooperate with the Group compliance function.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant business management or finance degree, preferably with an investment management qualification.
  • Possess at least 12 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
  • Have strong knowledge of investment management, finance, legal, regulatory, marketing, strategic planning, HR, and IT.
  • Demonstrate multitasking, delegation, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Exhibit strong people management, leadership, judgment, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Show strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effectively balance stakeholder interests.
  • Display strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Be adaptable, diplomatic, patient, focused, and positive.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
