Job Description
Our client, based in Bloemfontein, is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Claims Clerk / Claims Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing claims accurately and efficiently, must be able to work well under pressure, and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
Minimum requirements
- Matric
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Completed RE5 examinations
- MUST have reliable transport
- Minimum of 3 + years’ experience within short-term insurance
- Experience on Santam’s online “policy center” to adjust policies (Essential)
- Must be able to work independently

Duties and responsibilities
- Receive, register, and process claims in line with company policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely handling
- Verify all claim documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
- Accurately capture claim information on the relevant systems to maintain up-to-date records
- Follow up on outstanding information and liaise professionally with clients, service providers, and internal departments
- Assess and validate claims within approved limits and escalate complex cases as required
- Maintain comprehensive and organized claim records and files to support auditing and reporting requirements
- Communicate claim outcomes clearly and professionally to clients and relevant stakeholders
- Manage queries and resolve claims-related issues efficiently while maintaining confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations
- Achieve turnaround times and performance targets while working effectively under pressure
- Perform general administrative duties to support smooth claims operations and accurate reporting
