About the Role
Route Management is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Bloemfontein. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our diesel engines and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairing diesel engines and all components to ensure optimal performance.
- Conducting route cause failure analysis inspections to determine the root cause of component failures.
- Correcting vehicle defects by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing impaired parts or components according to Company procedure.
- Ensuring continuous upkeep of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Collecting work orders daily and completing job cards for every completed task.
- Test driving heavy vehicles after service and repair.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in diesel mechanics or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting route cause failure analysis inspections.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Formal education in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field (e.g. National Diploma, Bachelor’s degree).
- Valid driver’s license with a heavy vehicle category endorsement.
