Job Description

We are seeking a Data & Analytics Manager to join our team in Cape Town, onsite on a contract basis. The Data & Analytics Manager is responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the Servicing business. This role plays a critical function in transforming raw data into strategic insights that inform decision-making, improve customer experience, and optimize business performance. The Lead is accountable for managing a high-performing analytics team, delivering robust reporting frameworks, developing advanced data models, and ensuring that analytics initiatives align with business priorities and outcomes. Analytics Strategy and Leadership: Define and lead the implementation of the service analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business targets. Translate strategic objectives into AI and data-driven initiatives, dashboards, and reports that drive insights and actions. Leverage advanced analytics and AI tools (e.g., machine learning models, generative AI) to identify emerging trends, predict outcomes, and optimize decision-making. Work with product owners to understand data needs and guide the prioritization of analytics solutions accordingly. Team Management and Capability Development: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data analysts and reporting specialists. Build capability in advanced analytics, visualization, and self-service BI tools. Foster a data-driven culture and encourage cross-functional collaboration for analytics enablement. Reporting and Visualization: Design and implement scalable reporting solutions using tools like Tableau and Alteryx. Establish automated, accurate, and user-friendly dashboards for operational, tactical, and strategic use. Monitor report usage and continually improve data storytelling and visualization practices. Data Modeling and Analysis: Oversee the development of analytical models and segmentation frameworks to uncover patterns and trends. Guide exploratory and descriptive analytics to support business decisions across digital, rewards, finance, and customer functions. Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure access to clean, consistent, and timely data. Insight Generation and Decision Support: Perform root-cause and opportunity analyses using AI-powered tools to provide actionable business recommendations Develop and track KPIs and OKRs aligned to business performance, persistency, customer engagement, and campaign effectiveness. Embed analytics AI driven insights into business processes to enable continuous insight-led improvements. Data Governance and Quality Oversight: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data governance standards. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a centralized data knowledge repository. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED FOR THE JOB) Education Requirement: Bachelors degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Business Intelligence. A masters degree in data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Applied Statistics is preferred. Experience Requirements: 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or strategy roles, including 2 years in a leadership capacity. Proven track record in leading data and reporting teams, delivering complex analytics initiatives with measurable impact. Strong experience designing and building reporting infrastructure across functions like marketing, product, sales, and finance. Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau). Familiarity with statistical software (R, Python) and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS). Understanding of data warehousing and database structures. Experience in the below education/experience is preferred Data Analytics and BI Certifications: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate (Coursera) foundational certification covering the analytics process end-to-end. Tableau Desktop Specialist / Certified Analyst for organizations leveraging Tableau for enterprise reporting. Data Science & Statistical Modelling (Preferred): Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) for leaders working across the full analytics lifecycle. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED, NOT A REQUIREMENT) AI & Machine Learning: Hands-on experience with AI platforms and frameworks (e.g., Azure AI). Generative AI & NLP: Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI-driven insight generation. Programming: Strong skills in Python or R for data manipulation, modelling, and automation. Data Engineering Basics: Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Demonstrated experience in implementing AI-driven analytics solutions in a business context.
