About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a hybrid role, you will be required to work both remotely and on-site at our office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in implementing and managing data warehousing solutions, developing and maintaining data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights to inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions, ensuring data is easily accessible for analysis and reporting.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines that ingest and transform data from multiple sources while ensuring data integrity and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and visualizations.
- Deliver findings in an accessible manner to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Continuously improve data quality, accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to meet evolving organizational needs.
- Maintain and secure data systems, ensuring APIs are integrated with maximum uptime and adherence to security protocols.
- Uphold robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
Requirements
- Degree in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in Data Engineering or related roles (e.g., Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Architect).
- 3 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
- Proven ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and create compelling data solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, flexibility, and multi-tasking abilities.
