About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client in the Packaging Industry is urgently seeking an experienced Electrician to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical components, systems, and equipment in various settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical components, systems, and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using various testing devices and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Handle wiring, conduit, and cabling for new installations and renovations.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to determine project scope, timeline, and requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential electrical hazards and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide prompt and effective solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and completed tasks.
  • Install and maintain lighting systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of materials and supplies needed for electrical projects.
  • Coordinate with other tradespeople to ensure electrical work is integrated seamlessly.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant technical training.
  • Valid electrical license or certification.
  • Proven experience working as an electrician, preferably in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use electrical and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (Preferred).
  • Previous experience in project management or leadership roles (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient electrical systems (Preferred).
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in specific areas of electrical work (e.g., solar panels, data cabling, industrial machinery) (Preferred).
