Job Summary

The incumbent responsibilities include ensuring that all the respective electrical engineering tasks and targets are achieved, in cooperation with other engineers and the Head of Department. These shall mainly be responsibilities associated with ECSA work Stages, and others as detailed below. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY . Business Development and Support Attend tender briefings, prepare tender documentation, write method statements, assist with pricing calculations, and contribute to tender processes as and when required. a. Comply with Company procedures and processes in terms of project registration and risk analysis. Comply with Quality procedures by ensuring auditable trail of actions during full life cycle of project delivery process all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures. Comply with and embrace Health and Safety requirements in the workplace as well as on construction sites. Ensure that required services meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements Contribute to the marketing and business development of the Electrical Department to on-board new clients/projects. Internal Project Management, Health and Safety, Administration and Quality Management Procedures Comply with Company procedures and processes in terms of project registration and risk analysis. Comply with Quality procedures by ensuring auditable trail of actions during full life cycle of project delivery process all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures. Comply with and embrace Health and Safety requirements in the workplace as well as on construction sites. Ensure that required services meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Project delivery and management Actively lead, participate, and contribute to the design and technical aspects of projects in order to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification. Paramount to this role is conceptualisation, design development, and producing detail design work, as well as delivering contract documentation, specifications, and drawings. Sign-off on engineering designs by taking professional responsibility as per ECSA guidelines for designs executed. Successfully manage small to medium size projects. Design of electrical and electronic building services for various types of projects including but not limited to. Design of services/systems such as, but not limited to power, lighting, fire detection, access control, CCTV, nurse call, PA, emergency services (generator/UPS), telecoms containment, fibre networks and solar PV/BESS systems. Detailed knowledge of renewable energy designs will be an added advantage, this will include solar PV design, BESS, etc. Ensure that project start-up processes are followed, and the project scoping is clear and approved. Ensure that changes comply with project change management processes. Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and other project teams and participate in peer reviews. Prepare project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules. Prepare and evaluate alternative concept designs, and liaise with other disciplines, both internally and externally. Develop detail designs or detail design/build specifications, manage the preparation of drawings, and prepare tender documentation, in order to produce engineering deliverables of a high standard. Facilitate and assist with the tender and adjudication process leading up to contractor appointment and site handover. Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Plan, coordinate and manage the design, procurement, and construction of assigned projects. Conduct contract administration and do testing, commissioning, and inspections of installations. Develop initiatives to improve the cost effectiveness and efficiency of project execution. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures. Present design solutions to clients for approval. Responsible for routine administration tasks as required from time to time. Training and Mentoring Participate in continuous professional development training to maintain professional registration. Mentor, coach, train, and provide technical leadership to others who are registered as candidate engineers/technologists. Leadership and Relations Maintain good working relations with all stakeholders, both internal and external to the Company. Pro-actively liaise with clients to ensure the Company meets requirements. Effectively manage project teams to control risks and to achieve targets on time and within budget. Assist with the compilation and review of discipline specific technical standards, templates, and technologies. EDUCATION, LANGUAGE & QUALIFICATIONS B. Eng degree in Electrical Engineering at a recognized institution. Professional registration is preferred or be eligible for Professional registration (Pr. Eng) with ECSA within one year of appointment. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain electrical systems for solar PV or renewable energy projects. Oversee grid integration, power distribution and protection systems. Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies and performance modelling. Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation in line with industry standards. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including EPC contractors, utilities and regulators. Ensure compliance with relevant SANS, IEC and NERSA requirements. Support project execution from design to commissioning phase. Minimum Requirements: BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential). 3 years of hands-on experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects. Strong understanding of PV system design tools (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope). Knowledge of local and international electrical codes and standards. Experience with utility-scale or C&I solar systems is advantageous. ECSA registration (Pr.Eng or Candidate Engineer) will be a strong advantage. Apply now!

Design and implement automation systems tailored to client and project specifications Program, install, and integrate Delta PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (e.g., DOPSoft, WPLSoft) Build, wire, and test custom electrical panels for industrial equipment Commission and troubleshoot systems on-site and in-house to ensure functionality and compliance Provide technical documentation, configuration records, and maintenance logs Support and mentor junior technicians and interface with clients for training and system support Skills & Experience Minimum of 35 years in industrial control systems or automation Proven experience with Delta PLC programming and HMI configuration Comfortable using SCADA platforms for real-time data visualization and control Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical schematics , panel layouts, and wiring diagrams Strong fault-finding, root-cause analysis, and electrical troubleshooting skills Demonstrated leadership potential or experience in a supervisory role Excellent communication skills with a proactive and client-focused mindset Knowledge of safety standards, compliance regulations, and system documentation Qualifications BEng, BTech, National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Trade-Tested Electrician with automation exposure. Job Summary

Our client, a growing engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented and dedicated Electrical Building Services Engineer to join their dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality electrical designs for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. As an Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of electrical systems within buildings, from initial concept design to commissioning and handover. This includes: Design & Documentation: Developing detailed electrical engineering solutions for various building types, including power distribution, lighting, security, fire detection, data, and communication systems. Preparing comprehensive designs, drawings (using CAD and BIM software like AutoCAD or Revit), specifications, and technical reports. Conducting load calculations, fault level analyses, and protection studies. Assessing and advising on the sustainability and energy efficiency of electrical systems. Project Management & Coordination: Collaborating closely with clients, Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure integrated designs. Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Overseeing the installation and commissioning of electrical systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety regulations. Conducting site inspections and audits, providing technical support and guidance to site teams. Technical Expertise & Compliance: Ensuring that all designs and installations comply with the relevant local and international electrical standards, building codes, and health and safety regulations. Staying abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and sustainable design principles. Troubleshooting electrical issues and providing effective solutions during all project stages. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Interacting directly with clients to understand their needs, present design proposals, and maintain strong professional relationships. Negotiating contracts and preparing cost estimates. What We Are Looking For: Qualifications: BEng or BSc (Eng) in Electrical Engineering from an ECSA accredited institution. Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is highly advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of post-graduate experience in electrical building services design within a consulting engineering environment. Proven track record of successfully delivering a variety of building services projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Relux or similar lighting design software). Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, lighting design, standby power systems (generators and UPS), fire alarm systems, security systems, and data/communication infrastructure. Knowledge of green building principles and energy-efficient design.
