Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job: An exciting opportunity for a highly operational Human Resources Business Partner at our Durbanville Facility. The successful candidate will work closely with management, supervisors, and union representatives to ensure discipline, attendance, productivity, and compliance are consistently managed in line with operational requirements. Preferred requirements: Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field Minimum 3 years experience in an operational HR role Proven experience in a unionised, shift-based environment Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and disciplinary processes Confident facilitator of disciplinary hearings and union engagements Key Responsibilities (Operational Focus) Provide day-to-day HR support Manage employee relations matters including misconduct, poor performance, incapacity, and absenteeism Lead disciplinary processes from investigation through to hearings and CCMA preparation Maintain ongoing engagement with trade unions and shop stewards Support shift structures, workforce planning, and staffing aligned to production and logistical schedules Monitor attendance, overtime, and leave trends Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and collective agreements Support performance management linked to output, quality, and efficiency Coordinate skills development, training, and operator competency tracking Ensure HR compliance with labour legislation, audits, and site requirements Recruitment of Shop-Floor staff and Seasonal Workers KPI Summary: Reduction in absenteeism, misconduct, and unplanned downtime Timely resolution of disciplinary cases and grievances Stable labour relations with minimal CCMA exposure Workforce availability aligned to shift patterns, peak trading times and production targets Consistent performance management across production teams 100% compliance with labour legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies Accurate HR reporting to support operational decision-making
