Job Summary

Job Summary: Are you an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with a passion for leading and mentoring a team? We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our client’s dynamic Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the rapid development of our investment platform, ETL reporting, and quantitative modeling. You`ll work in a collaborative environment where small teams set the technical direction and continuously improve our systems. Working Arrangements Hybrid working – Southern Suburbs of Cape Town

Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain full-stack applications using modern front-end technologies (Vue, Angular, or React), .Net with .Net Core, and SQL Server. – Provide strategic technical solutions to complex problems in a distributed systems environment. – Discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines with optimal solutions. – Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to internal guidelines and industry standards. – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Investment, Operations, and Compliance, to manage workflows, data warehousing, and reporting systems. – Manage and mentor a team of 2-4 junior developers, fostering their growth and skill development. – Ensure the long-term maintainability of the codebase by advocating for better structuring and refactoring when appropriate. – Provide project visibility to key stakeholders and handle projects with significant scope. Qualifications/

Requirements:

– 8 years of programming experience in C#/.Net. – 8 years of experience in RDBMS (preferably SQL Server). – 4 years of programming experience in modern JavaScript frameworks. – Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming, latest architectures, and design patterns. – Proficient with GIT version control system. – Knowledge of database schemas that support business applications. – Demonstrated ability to efficiently read and comprehend other developers’ code. – Ability to architect, design, and implement scalable systems. – Excellent client-facing written and verbal communication skills. Nice to Have: – Experience working in the financial domain. – Experience with Azure Cloud development.
