About the Role
A food ingredient manufacturer is seeking a Poultry Product Application Technologist to join their team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and optimising poultry brine and coating systems, providing technical support at customer sites, and collaborating with customers to identify needs and develop tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test brine and coating systems for poultry applications
- Conduct product trials at customer sites, including set-up and operation of injectors and other equipment
- Collaborate with customers to identify needs and develop tailored solutions
- Provide technical troubleshooting support and recommend process or formulation improvements
- Participate in NPD projects, offering technical input from concept through to implementation
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for both internal use and clients
- Maintain accurate records, lab notes, and formulation data
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes
- Liaise with suppliers, universities, and external labs as required
- Conduct monthly customer visits and attend factory trials
Requirements
- Food Science degree or related qualification
- At least 3 years poultry application experience
- Hands-on experience working with poultry brines, coating systems, and injection equipment
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle (essential)
