Job Summary

Duties: Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved. Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involve liaising with architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors. Monitor all commercial information in relation to project, and control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account. Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing and drafting of correspondence. Commercial vetting of sub-contractor tenders and contracts. Certification of subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts. Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered Manage and produce accurate formal reports and follow procedures and instructions in accordance with the business Produce accurate measuring, data transfers, formulations, and calculations Work in a well-timed manner not to hold up the adjacent teams and project progress Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or Quantity Surveying Diploma obtained from a recognised tertiary institution Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a commercial / property environment Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project proficient

Job Summary

Overview: To co-ordinate and oversee all site functions – on a strategic, financial, and operational basis from initial design stages to completion and to ensure that project progresses according to the budget, programs and time frames set. To assist the Project Manager in achieving the objectives and targets set out for the Company and to contribute to building long-term sustainable relationships with Employers (and their agents/representatives) as well as Sub-Contractors. To ensure that all tasks should be completed to the high standard required by the Company and in accordance with its Policies & Procedures. To mentor, develop and motivate junior quantity surveyors and trainees to improve performance and to directly contribute to achieving a successful completion of projects. Responsibilities: · Implement and adhere to all the company financial systems that contribute commercially to the performance of the contracts (allowable, costs, P&G, revenue). · Report on contract financial performance against targets at Project reviews. · Maximise cash-flow through timeous cash collection. · Maximisation of contract revenue (Overview of sites to identify and maximize commercial opportunities). · Develop, implement, and adhere to commercial systems, procedures, and policies. ·Identify commercial and financial risks and opportunities on the project. Be involved preparing mitigation strategies with the Project Manager, where required. · Execute and monitor all cost control principles and procedures for the project · Prepare the relevant commercial notices and contractual claims in co-ordination with the · Project Manager and support from relevant departments. · With the Project Manager, meet with relevant parties to minimise disputes. · Effective liaison with the Employer representative responsible for monthly certification and ensure timely submission, issuance, and payment of the month payment certificate. · Be 100% prepared for project review including all related financial and commercial aspect of the project. · Highlighting risk and mitigation strategies to senior management.

Job Summary

A leading Durbanville-based residential building contractor is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-end residential homes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate bills of quantities and cost estimates Manage project budgets, progress claims, and final accounts Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting Assess and certify subcontractor and supplier payments Support procurement processes and contract administration Collaborate with architects, clients, and site teams to ensure project efficiency Requirements: Minimum 35 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential construction Proven experience with upmarket or bespoke home builds is advantageous Strong knowledge of JBCC contracts and local building regulations Proficient in Excel and QS software (e.g., BuildSmart, CCS Candy) Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive work ethic Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying
