About the Role
Our client is a professional players’ association and union dedicated to athlete welfare, advocacy, and career development. They are seeking a Communications Manager to join their team, responsible for managing communications with all clients members, sponsors, and stakeholders, ensuring that our client is presented as a strong and respected brand within the sporting industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategies.
- Working with internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders to coordinate initiatives.
- Managing agreements and budget for the communications department.
- Manages our clients communication with stakeholders which includes members, player agents, sponsors, across all platforms.
- Responsible for managing all internal communications.
- Identifies and strengthens player communication opportunities on all platforms.
- Responsible for the management, content development and update of all our clients social media platforms including X (twitter), Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Monitors all player and industry social media activity.
- Responsible for the management, content development and updating of all our clients website, which includes monitoring all website activity.
- Grows and develops strong relationships with media and manages all our client’s media requests.
- Manages all of CEOs media.
- Drafts, provides input and distributes our clients media releases.
- Develops proactive media strategies to deal with various key issues with consultants.
- Monitors our clients related news and sport related news and captures media-related content on all online platforms.
- Responsible for the design of all our clients marketing-related material including PowerPoint templates etc.
- Builds and increases our clients brand awareness to all stakeholders including current members, potential future members and the public.
- Continuously develops new online and application initiatives.
Requirements
Knowledge of and interest in sport, international and local. Proficiency with communication platforms, media tools, and reporting software. Strong copywriting and content production skills. Project management capability. Excellent written & verbal communication. Stakeholder influence and relationship-building. Results-driven mindset and strong problem-solving. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. Strong teamwork and leadership. Work independently. Must have a passion for sport.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
