Job Description

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled IT Support Technician for our client, a leading industrial chemicals wholesaler. In this role, the IT Support Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of IT issues, whether hardware or software-related. You will work closely with the IT Manager to provide timely feedback and solutions within agreed-upon deadlines, ensuring smooth communication and technical support for both internal teams and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cutting-edge IT solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support issues.
  • Install and configure software, hardware, PCs, and laptops.
  • Ensure systems are backed up and maintained properly.
  • Document all tasks and duties related to IT support.
  • Provide remote management and support services.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers and ISPs.
  • Offer first-line support by addressing frequently asked questions.
  • Maintain and update the website with product details and industry news.
  • Develop and maintain the management reporting application.

Requirements

  • IT-related degree or diploma. (Advantageous)
  • Experience with web development platforms or languages.(Advantageous)
  • Understanding of Server software implementation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server.
  • Experience with creating Users/Roles in a Domain environment.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Technical knowledge of IT infrastructures.
  • Proficient in PC and printer troubleshooting and fault-finding.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Job Description

Hire Resolve’s client is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their team in Cape Town, WC. The IT Support Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the IT systems and providing exceptional technical support to internal users. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring that all IT equipment and software are functioning optimally.

Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
  • Install, configure, and maintain the operating systems and software applications.
  • Provide technical support in person, via phone, or remotely.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Assist in network monitoring, user account management, and IT projects.
  • Document technical procedures and user guides for support processes.
  • Work closely with IT Teams to ensure systems are updated and maintained.
  • Participate in training and onboarding for new staff as needed.

Requirements: 

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification essential
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of MS Server software and management thereof.
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Skills Required
  • Understanding of Server software, its implementation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server
  • Creating of Users/Roles in a Domain environment
  • Understanding of TCP/IP
  • Strong Problem solving & Analytical skills
  • Technical understanding of IT infrastructures
  • Good knowledge of PC’s/Printers and fault finding
  • Communication skills (Verbal and Written)
