Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Produce Patterns (including grading, preparing spec sheets for tech packs). Convert Patterns as required. Feed data into computer software programmes. Carry out quality checks to ensure final patterns match originals. Work closely with design and sample making teams (deliver samples on time). Make design changes using LECTRA pattern design software (PDS) when required.
Requirements:
Senior certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent knowledge and experience. National diploma or part qualification in pattern making & grading or clothing production management. Must have experience in creating electronic pattern files on a pattern making software system e.g., GERBER. Previous experience of working on LECTRA Modaris Classic software module (or training will be provided). Previous experience of working on LECTRA Diamino Advanced software module (or training will be provided). 5 years experience as machinist/sample hand machinist in a clothing factory environment. 3 to 5 years experience as pattern maker/grader. Valid drivers license with access to own transport. Strong computer skills and aptitude. Training/schooling in technical drawing (CAD) is advantageous. Joining components and garment construction sewing skills. Attention to detail with an eye for shape and proportion. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to procedures. Able to work in a changing and fast paced environment.
