Job Summary
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: Grade 12 with production or management related qualification ideal 5+ years related experience in a construction type industry as a plant manager Good staff management ability Valid drivers and own transport (no public transport) Fluency in English & Afrikaans required Must be resident near the Durbanville area Good computer literacy Clear criminal record and contactable references The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Deliver product as per production schedule by managing staff, material and equipment Ensure there is stock for current and future orders Sign / correct clock sheets / resolve staff issues / minimize overtime / apply HR policies Delegate staff instructions daily, record incidents including root cause analysis leading to resolution Manage routine plant maintenance Take action with plant breakdowns, staff absenteeism, power failures, technical problems etc Communicate continuously with all staff to ensure smooth running of plant Co-ordinate scheduled maintenance and monitor the production processes Support team in improving quality and productivity Build good relations with preferred suppliers Staff performance reviews quarterly Prepare / control budgets General administration tasks Minimize wastage Staff discipline and taking action when necessary
