Job Title: Pre-School Principal / Centre Manager
Location: Cape Town, Northern Suburbs
Salary: R50 000.00 R60 000.00 CTC per month
Introduction
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Pre-Primary School and Aftercare Centre for an experienced Pre-School Principal / Centre Manager.
This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall management of the centre, including academic oversight, operational management, financial administration, staff leadership, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the centre operates effectively while maintaining the highest standards of education, safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the Pre-Primary School and Aftercare Centre
- Implement operational policies, procedures and internal controls
- Support strategic planning and organisational growth
- Ensure operational efficiency and service delivery
Academic Oversight
- Ensure adherence to the prescribed Early Childhood Development curriculum
- Monitor academic planning and learning outcomes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for childcare and education
Human Resource Management
- Oversee recruitment, performance management and staff development
- Manage disciplinary processes, grievances and employee wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and HR best practices
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage annual operational budgets
- Monitor operational expenditure and financial performance
- Oversee procurement and financial administration
- Manage debtor accounts and financial reporting
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including:
- Department of Social Development regulations
- Child Protection legislation
- Labour legislation and employment standards
- Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with parents, staff and community stakeholders
- Address feedback, concerns and complaints professionally
- Represent the organisation at relevant community and industry engagements
Facilities & Safety Management
- Oversee maintenance, hygiene and safety of the facility
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for children and staff
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field
- Additional Business, Management or Finance qualification advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years senior management experience in an educational environment
- Proven experience managing operations, staff, budgets and compliance
- Experience within Pre-Primary / Early Childhood Development environments

Additional Requirements
- Valid Drivers Licence

Salary & Benefits
R50 000.00 R60 000.00 CTC per month
