About the Role
Merand Corbett & Associates is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quantity surveying services to our clients, including tender pricing and quantity take-offs, compiling and pricing bills of quantities (BOQs), and managing costs throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender pricing & quantity take-offs
- Compiling and pricing bills of quantities (BOQs)
- Subcontractor procurement & appointments
- Progress claims & measurement
- Programme management
- Cost control, variations & EOT administration
- Site involvement and basic site management
- Strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal team
Requirements
- QS Qualification (BSc/BTech)
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience
- Proven experience in upmarket residential construction
- Predominantly main building contractor experience
- Strong tendering, BOQ pricing, compiling and pricing of bills of quantities (Excel essential)
- Experience with Candy CCS
- Knowledge of JBCC contract administration (EOTs, variations, progress claims)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
- Valid RSA driver’s license & own transport
