About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Food & Beverage Director to lead our ultra-luxurious 5* hotel in Cape Town. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for delivering the highest level of hospitality across all F&B outlets, ensuring total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, and budget revenues and costs for the department.
• Staff and schedule associates, allocating duties to maximize associate productivity and minimize payroll costs.
• Create a work environment that fosters high employee morale, provides constant learning & development, and utilizes feedback from Employee Satisfaction Surveys to draw action plans.
• Develop systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Recruit, manage, and perform associates in the department.
• Implement the annual plan using the Tata Business Excellence Model framework, linking departmental objectives to unit-wide strategy.
• Lead associates to ensure maximum productivity and oversee outlet managers and supervisors with day-to-day department running.
• Monitor daily activities of all F&B outlets, including banquets, and work with chefs on cuisine, menu planning & design.
• Regularly monitor GSTS and feedback to ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate service to guests.
• Conduct regular meetings with outlet managers and supervisors, monitoring guest concerns, compliments, and suggestions.
• Organize food festivals and develop guest loyalty and retention programs.
• Compile and review monthly profit and loss statements for various outlets and assist in implementing approved budgets.
• Implement cost containment strategies for all outlets to maximize F&B profitability.
• Prepare promotion and marketing/PR plans for various outlets and execute them.
• Conduct refresher-training programs for associates and guide new members of the department.
• Maintain regular contacts with corporate and individual customers, building strong relationships with them.
• Stay informed about local, national, and international best practices/trends in food service, interior design, technology, and entertainment in F&B.
• Develop departmental trainers in association with the training department and oversee all training activities within the department.

Requirements

• Graduates from reputed hotel management schools (desirable)
• Graduates with experience in hotels or hospitality sector (1 to 2 years in similar position) (desirable)
• Fluency in English; additional language skills advantageous
