About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Wine Sales Representative to join our growing team at Rueda Wine Co., one of South Africa’s leading importers and distributors of fine wines. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with restaurants, retailers, and private clients while expanding our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with restaurants, wine bars, retailers and private clients
- Proactively generate new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
- Present and sell wines from our international and local portfolio
- Conduct tastings and client meetings
- Manage client allocations and new releases
- Maintain regular contact with key accounts
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
- Represent Rueda Wine Co. professionally within the wine industry
- Assist with wine events, tastings and trade shows
- Work closely with the internal sales and logistics teams
Requirements
- Previous sales experience (wine industry preferred but not essential)
- Strong interest in wine and wine culture
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and target-driven
- Ability to work independently and manage a client base
- Professional presentation and strong interpersonal skills
- Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle
- Computer literacy (email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, CRM systems)
Qualifications
- Wine qualifications (WSET, Cape Wine Academy or similar)
