About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, youll design, build, and maintain the APIs and infrastructure powering a cutting-edge health platform. Working at the intersection of data, cloud, and user impact, youll collaborate across engineering, product, and AI teams to deliver robust and scalable backend solutions that integrate wearable, biometric, and behavioural data.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python (FastAPI)

Design scalable systems for real-time health data integration

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code

Partner with frontend, AI, and product teams to deliver impactful features

Contribute to system architecture discussions and evolution

Lead infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows

Manage cloud deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (GCP preferred)

Implement monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry)

Ensure platform security and compliance (e.g. GDPR, OAuth 2.0)
Skills & Experience
Must-Have

Minimum 5 years in backend engineering roles

Advanced Python skills with FastAPI or Flask

Strong background in API design and asynchronous programming

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes

Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices

Proficient in SQL databases and data pipeline development

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
