Description
Hire Resolve is a leading recruitment agency in Cape Town, and we are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying for construction projects in Cape Town and surrounding areas. You will work closely with our clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery. In addition, you will be leading a team of junior quantity surveyors and providing guidance and mentorship to them.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections for construction projects
- Oversee all quantity surveying aspects, including measurement, valuation, and billing
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project managers for accurate and timely cost reporting
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors
- Manage subcontractor appointments
- Conduct monthly valuations, including work measurement
- Generate subcontractor monthly payment certificates
- Administer fortnightly payment certificates for labour-only subcontractors
- Price Variation Orders (VOs)
- Produce monthly cost reports
- Collaborate closely with the bookkeeper, contracts managers, and site managers
- Maintain regular communication with client Quantity Surveyors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a senior role
- Extensive experience in both residential and commercial projects
- In-depth knowledge of cost management and quantity surveying principles
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in cost management software
- Full IT literacy with advanced proficiency in Excel and CCS (Candy)
