Job Summary

Job Specification Manage and lead team members to ensure maximum utilisation of production facility, including all equipment, raw materials, packs, and packs / materials, and labour, to produce quality products at the lowest possible cost Material requirement planning Plant capacity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Product and process specific knowledge Knowledge and interpretation of advanced process control Principles of microbiology, biochemistry, and understanding of processing equipment Clean in Place (CIP) procedures HACCP Waste management GMP quality control and quality assurance Raw material functions System fault finding Health and safety practices Food legislation Managing and leading teams towards high performance Implementation of world-class and Lean Manufacturing processes and structures Controlling equipment and processes Monitoring processes, materials and surroundings Fault finding Assessing the resources required to perform a work activity Training skills Ensure that service delivery to and from internal and external clients are monitored and comply to standard Communicating the production plan and carrying out Pre-planning and preparation for production Monitor the production start up process and assist operators with start up deviations Manage barriers to implementation of plan Review of Performance at regular intervals Monitor, maintain and Review Utilisation and Productivity Manage downtime and production loss incidents consistently Improve and initiate Productivity improvements Monitor, maintain and ensure quality and production documentation are completed as per work procedures Monitor and ensure adherence to Production and Quality Procedures Monitor and ensure adherence to standards Manage all Process and quality deviations Conduct Audits and manage findings Monitor, maintain and ensure adherence to cleaning schedules as per factory requirement Oversee plant maintenance and engineering services Monitor and ensure assistance with first line and preventative maintenance Monitor and ensure machine condition checks Contacting and arranging for maintenance support Monitor and ensure adherence to procedures and standards Apply 5S principles Auditing and inspection of area and equipment Incident investigation and management Promote awareness and review performance Monitor, maintain and ensure corrective and preventative improvement actions through structured problem solving Create an environment conducive to effective teamwork and innovation Setup effective teams and ensure review of performance Promote and ensure effective team communication Measure and monitor team and individual performance Manage and conduct performance of individuals Manage IR situations and ensure positive IR environment Ensure that all administrative procedures are performed, and documents are traceable Identifies risks in area of responsibility and immediate operations Encourage a Food Safety Culture Monitor Employees through Good-2-Great (G2G) platform Minimum Requirements Matriculated National Diploma: Food Technology/Production Certificate or Diploma National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging Operation or Technical Qualification Team Leader/Management/Supervisory training is essential 5 years from a Matric level or 1-2 years from a diploma level Team leading and management experience are essential Kindly note that by submitting your application for this career opportunity, you agree that Guardian Recruiting may use your application for the purpose of the recruitment and selection of the said position, and this information may be shared with the relevant stakeholders in the business.
