About the Role
Our client, a leading fashion retailer in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Sourcing Coordinator to join their team in Cape Town. If you thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment with a strong background in sourcing, administration, and international travel, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the fast and cost-effective purchase of finished goods.
- Negotiate prices and delivery dates with suppliers to meet company objectives.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Assess workmanship and suggest improvements to fabric and construction.
- Ensure critical path timelines are met through disciplined planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system data using PLM systems.
- Demonstrate a traders instinct to ensure portfolio growth and profitability.
- Facilitate styling changes with suppliers while negotiating win-win outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience communicating directly with overseas suppliers.
- Strong administrative and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly PLM or similar platforms.
- Background in manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
- Experience managing a Sourcing Assistant.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for sourcing purposes.
- Team player with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional multitasking and problem-solving skills.
- Innovative mindset, with a focus on streamlining processes and driving efficiency.
Qualifications
- Background in manufacturing or a related field is preferred (if applicable)
