Cape Town: System Business Analyst posted by Hire Resolve

Job Description

A major “value retailer” in South Africa, offering a combination of low-priced goods, loyalty programs, and financial services to serve a family-oriented customer base, is currently a skilled Systems Business Analyst to join their team. In this role, you’ll be the crucial link between their Systems Teams, Business Units, and third-party partners. Your main purpose will be to diagnose problems, identify solutions, and propose improvements to our systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into detailed specifications (BRS/BRD) for systems development and enhancement projects.

  • System Analysis and Design: Utilize various modeling techniques (UML, process mapping, flow charts) to design and document system architecture, business workflows, and use cases, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose in both ERP and non-ERP environments.

  • Project and Change Management: Actively participate in and lead projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and communication. Facilitate change management and provide training to internal teams on new FinTech tools and platforms.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary interface between the Systems Teams, Business Units, and third-party vendors, fostering collaboration to achieve business goals.

  • FinTech and Cellular System Support: Provide ongoing systems and business support for the VAS and Cellular business areas. Identify opportunities for process improvements through FinTech innovations and assist in the implementation of new solutions.

  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of digital products and system integrations. Conduct defect management and ensure adherence to change control governance principles.

  • Problem Solving and Reporting: Diagnose system problems, propose solutions, and execute action plans. Compile and present quantitative and qualitative reports on system performance, and use data to build reports and dashboards for business users.

  • Risk and Defect Management: Conduct risk assessments and facilitate cross-functional mitigation strategies. Manage and track defects through their lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution.

    • Approximately 5 years in Apparel Retail and Systems.

    • Proven track record of implementing FinTech solutions.

    • Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

    • Strong understanding of SDLC, Change Control, and Defect management.

    • Proficiency with UML and basic Oracle/SQL.

    • Familiarity with PMBOK, BABOK, and POPIA principles.
