About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire engineering and will be responsible for ensuring that our buildings and structures are designed and maintained in compliance with fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire protection systems for buildings and structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate fire hazards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate fire safety measures into building designs.
- Review construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections of buildings and facilities to assess their fire safety readiness.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on fire safety procedures and protocols.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in fire protection technology.
- Respond to fire emergencies and assist in coordinating firefighting efforts.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation related to fire safety compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in fire engineering or related role.
- Professional Engineering certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations.
