About the Role
As a Workshop Foreman at Route Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will work closely with our team to maintain a safe and organized work environment, while also driving business growth through effective cost management and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Leadership: Manage and supervise workshop staff
- Quality Control: Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with company guidelines and safety standards
- Inventory and Equipment Management: Track and manage workshop supplies, tools, and equipment
- Health and Safety Management: Enforce health and safety standards and conduct training
- Budget and Cost Control: Help control workshop expenses by managing resources efficiently
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, inventory, and staff performance
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience in trailer manufacturing and repair
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role within a workshop or similar environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Knowledge of quality control, inventory management, and health and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
- Qualification in Trade (Boilermaker, Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Vehicle Body Builder) will be an advantage
