About the Role
Fempower Personnel is seeking two experienced Construction Managers to join a leading petrochemical engineering company based in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site construction activities and ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality, and permit-to-work requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site construction activities, ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality, and permit-to-work requirements.
- Manage and coordinate site personnel, including foremen and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily progress reports while maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Interpret and execute work in accordance with engineering drawings and project plans.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor construction progress against project milestones.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to identify and resolve on-site technical challenges.
- Manage the procurement, control, and efficient use of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction management within the petrochemical, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in 8.1(a) appointment or equivalent supervisory responsibility under the Construction Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of OHS Act, construction safety standards, and permit-to-work systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and manage multiple contractors simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office and relevant project management software.
