Cathcart: Safety Officer (SACPCMP registered) – Temp

About the Role

We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our team on a temporary 2-month contract. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our personnel and assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures and protocols
• Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance audits as required
• Provide training and guidance to personnel on safety procedures and protocols
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near misses
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with South African HSE legislation

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety Management / Occupational Health & Safety or similar
• SACPCMP registration
• 5 years of relevant experience in safety management
• Practical experience on construction sites
• Knowledge of South African HSE legislation
• Valid SAMTRAC (or equivalent safety qualification)
• First Aid training an advantage
