About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a Mine Closure and Rehabilitation Specialist to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mine closure and rehabilitation activities at our mining operations, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement mine closure and rehabilitation plans in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess the progress of rehabilitation activities and identify any potential issues.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, environmental consultants, and local communities, to ensure alignment on closure and rehabilitation strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on best practices for mine closure and rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of mining operations, including groundwater quality, soil erosion, and vegetation growth.
- Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on mine closure and rehabilitation practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine closure and rehabilitation within the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices related to mine closure and rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
