Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our personnel and assets on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate hazards
- Investigate incidents and prepare reports for submission to management
- Ensure compliance with South African HSE legislation and company policies
- Develop and maintain safety procedures and protocols
- Provide training and guidance to personnel on safety matters
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety Management / Occupational Health & Safety or similar
- SACPCMP registered
- 5 years of relevant experience in safety management
- Practical experience on construction sites
- Knowledge of South African HSE legislation
- Valid SAMTRAC (or equivalent safety qualification)
- First Aid training (advantage)
