We are now seeking a highly competent and motivated Accountant / Controller to join our Finance Department and play a key role in optimising our financial operations.

About the Role

The Accountant / Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role offers a blend of hands-on accounting, process improvement, and leadership within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with South African accounting standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimise financial performance.
• Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to guide strategic business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other statutory obligations).
• Mentor and guide finance team members to ensure efficiency and professional growth.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: General Manager – Finance
• Liaises with: Department Heads and Cross-Functional Teams

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 5 – 8 years’ proven experience in accounting or financial management.
• Solid understanding of South African accounting standards and tax laws.

Software Proficiency

• Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero or similar).
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
