Overview
Our client is seeking a driven and results-oriented External Sales Representative with proven experience in the automotive parts industry. This role is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional who thrives on the road, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and has a strong understanding of automotive components and aftermarket products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing national sales, managing key accounts, and developing new business opportunities across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively manage and grow an existing customer base across South Africa
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the automotive parts market
- Conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and negotiations
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, distributors, and workshops
- Provide market feedback, competitor analysis, and sales reports to management
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing and customer satisfaction
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings
Minimum Requirements
- Proven external sales experience within the automotive parts industry (non-negotiable)
- Strong understanding of automotive components and aftermarket products
- Minimum of 3–5 years external sales experience
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong planning, time management, and self-discipline
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Computer literate (CRM systems, MS Office)
