Job Description
As a Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their industrial requirements. Your expertise and industry knowledge will enable you to effectively analyse market trends and provide insights to clients on the latest developments in the industrial sector.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets, including export sales, by understanding market conditions and adapting strategies accordingly.
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with key accounts.
- Negotiate terms and close sales within authorised parameters.
- Identify and track sales opportunities, reporting on both wins and losses.
- Develop quarterly selling plans aligned with company strategy.
- Provide regular sales reports and activity updates on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Manage sales orders, business agreements, and inventory levels in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on quality matters affecting sales.
- Gather market and customer information, providing feedback to the company.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions using CRM software.
- Conduct continuous analysis and reporting on competitor activities.
Requirements:
- Business Management diploma/degree or BCom Degree recommended.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience managing key accounts, preferably in industrial or food manufacturing sales.
- Proven sales experience in commodities is essential.
- Proficiency in computerised accounting packages and financial analysis.
- Established national customer relationships within the industry.
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for the FMCG environment and commitment to customer service.
- Self-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
- Innovative thinker who challenges the status quo.
