Job Description
Warehouse Management:
- Operations Oversight: Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfilment, and shipping/receiving activities.
- Implement and enforce best practices for warehouse processes, including inventory accuracy and order processing efficiency.
- Staff Management: Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure staff are properly trained in warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure warehouse operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct safety training, enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and manage emergency procedures.
Facilities Management:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- Facility Upkeep: Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and in good repair.
- Manage janitorial services and coordinate regular cleaning and maintenance schedules.
- Space Utilization: Optimize the layout and use of warehouse space to improve workflow and storage efficiency.
- Plan and manage facility layout changes or expansions as needed.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure facility operations comply with environmental regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Maintain necessary documentation and records related to facility management.
Administrative Duties:
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for warehouse operations and facility maintenance.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain reports on warehouse and facility performance, including inventory levels, maintenance activities, and staff performance.
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure service levels meet company standards.
