About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and bookkeeping, with excellent MS Excel skills and experience with Sage/Omni Accounts. As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, verify and code supplier invoices to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Verify and code EFT payments to the correct general ledger accounts as part of cashbook processing.
- Reconcile and process petty cash/branch bank card transactions to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Verify incoming deliveries against supporting documents for receipting goods.
- Enter stock interbranch transfers into the ERP system for stock transfers.
- Enter authorised stock adjustments into the ERP system for stock adjustments.
- Maintain organised physical and digital filing systems for all financial documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Handle standard office duties like answering phones, processing mail and providing support to senior accounting staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 to 3 years in a finance and/or bookkeeping role.
- Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Experience with Sage/Omni Accounts.
- High level of accuracy and a methodical approach, being well-organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards when handling sensitive and confidential financial data.
