About the Role
The Neurodiversity Centre is seeking a compassionate and experienced Au pair to provide full-time support to our two boys, aged 4 and 9. The children are energetic, curious, creative, and love spending time outdoors. With one child being Autistic (level 1) and having ADHD, we require someone who can build relationships based on acceptance and trust while learning how best to engage with each of their unique personalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Fetch the boys from school and spend time with them in the afternoons
- Accompany them to extra-curricular activities
- Engage with both boys and plan activities with them
- Build relationships based on acceptance and trust
- Assist with homework and extension programmes
- Collaborate with their teachers and multidisciplinary team
- Manage school communication
Requirements
- Experience working with children, particularly those that are neurodivergent
- Experience in neurodivergence and autism spectrum disorder is advantageous
- Fluent in English
- Punctuality
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable car
- A gentle and kind approach to working with children, whilst remaining firm in boundaries
- Knowledge of childhood development would be advantageous
- Knowledge of working from a child-led approach is essential
Qualifications
- Experience working with neurodivergent individuals (desirable but not mandatory)
