About the Role
A leading chemical manufacturing company situated in Durban is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join their team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Mechanical Maintenance team
- Appointee responsibility for the site
- Application of the Maintain Facility Work Process
- Provision of technical strategy to facility on how to improve equipment and machinery reliability
- Ensuring that plans for equipment viability are designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions
- Delivery of best-in-class services to the business
- Maintenance work process results and maintenance cost accountability
- MRO inventory levels and achievement of facility stretch targets
- Establishment of annual financial plan consistent with business needs, functional goals, and targets
- Definition of skills necessary to implement the work process and effective resource leveraging within the mechanical facility
- Management of empowered teams for fast resource leveraging
- Provision of engineering strategic support for specification, identification, and purchasing of needed parts
- Ensuring that empowered teams apply the work process consistently and effectively
- Leveraging most effective technology through partnership with Discipline Activity Specialists
- Strategic allocation of Capex to critical and future projects aligned with strategy and long-term mechanical renewal plan
- Active participation and drive maintenance process improvements
- Leadership for Mechanical subject matter experts in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or higher
- In possession of a GCC (Factories)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the chemical industrial environment, coupled with minimum of 5 years middle management or leading role
- Good Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Productivity Focused, Technical Capability, innovative and strong assertiveness
- Highly analytical
- Strong people management skills
- Ability to conceptualize and drive mechanical maintenance strategy alongside
- Ability to work independently and as part of an Empowered MANCO team member
- Ability and willingness to travel
