About the Role

A well-established law firm based in Musgrave, Durban is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support one of the firm’s Directors in a litigation-focused practice. This role is ideal for a proactive, highly organised individual who takes pride in accuracy, client service, and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Providing full secretarial support to a Director (litigation-focused)
Dictaphone typing of legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
Drafting and preparing litigation documents including affidavits, warrants of execution, notices, and related documentation
Managing the Director’s diary, deadlines, and follow-ups
General legal administration and file management

Requirements

4–5 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary (litigation experience essential)
Strong dictaphone typing skills
Solid understanding of basic litigation procedures
High attention to detail with excellent proofreading ability
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative

Salary & Benefits

R12 000 – R15 000 per month (based on experience)
